THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW Heading To Fox TV!!?

"Salmon Fishing in the Yemen star Tom Mison has joined the cast of Fox's upcoming "Sleepy Hollow" series. From Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (Transformers, Star Trek), "Sleepy Hollow" will feature Mison in the leading role of Ichabod Crane and will follow his adventures as he travels from the past to present day Sleepy Hollow. There, he finds himself accused of murder.

Mison joins Orlando Jones (Evolution) as Lieutenant Frank Williams, a present-day police officer and and Katia Winter ("Dexter") as Crane's wife in the 18th century.

Based on the now-classic 1820 Washington Irving short story, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," the pilot episode will be directed by Brad Anderson (The Machinist) (Len Wiseman was previously attached) and written by Kurtzman and Orci alongside Phillip Iscove.

"The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" has been adapted for film and television as far back as 1922. It last hit the big screen with Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow in 1999 and the small screen with "The Hollow," an ABC Family telefilm that also brought the plot to present day."

Lauren Oliver's DELIRIUM TV Series Finds Its ALEX!?!?!

"The Secret Life of the American Teenager's Daren Kagasoff has landed the male lead opposite Emma Roberts in the network's adaptation of the books by Lauren Oliver, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The books depict a world in which love is deemed illegal and is able to be eradicated with a special procedure. With 95 days to go until her scheduled treatment, Lena Holoway (Roberts) does the unthinkable: she falls in love.
Kagasoff will play Alex, the object of Lena's affections. He's a uniformed police officer who on the surface appears tough, smug and a rigid enforcer of the government's rules. Underneath, he's a man with a secret agenda: He's a member of an anti-government group led by Lawrence Tack, one that is infiltrating the most oppressive elements of society while hiding the fact that he still has a mind of his own. A vehement opponent of the government's plan to eradicate love, Alex finds himself intensely attracted to Lena. To explore a future together, he must protect her from receiving the government's curative procedure and convert her to his cause.

Prison Break's Karyn Usher will pen the pilot and executive produce the 20th Television entry alongside Peter Chernin, Katherine Pope, Paul Mazur and Mitchell Kaplan. The Killing's Billy Campbell will play Thomas Fineman, a conservative political leader who opposed the social chaos caused by "delria" and supports the use of brain modification that prevents citizens from falling in love.

Kagasoff, repped by CAA and John Carrabino Management, plays Ricky Underwood in ABC Family's recently canceled Secret Life, which ends its five-season run in June." Courtesy of hollywoodreporter.com

VERY much disliked Secret Life and though I imagined Alex younger, this is a really good choice!

I can see him portraying Alex in a very real way that will be both strong and sensitive.

Casting is turning out well!

I hope the show will be good.

NBC New TV Series [ALICE IN] WONDERLAND!! Evil Alice??!

"I’ve learned that NBC has pushed Wonderland, its drama pilot set in the world of Lewis Carroll’s Alice In Wonderland that is executive produced by CSI creator Anthony Zuiker. The project, written by feature scribe Whit Anderson, will not be produced within the regular pilot season because of the scale and complexity of the production, including visual effects. I hear the pilot probably will start filming before the end of pilot season but will likely not be delivered before summer. Wonderland was a late pickup — it was greenlighted on Jan. 29 — and had to undergo a studio switch after ABC Studios pulled out and Universal TV took over. (The pilot’s high price tag was among ABC Studios’ reasons to bail as it is producing another expensive fairytale drama series with elaborate shoots and special effects, ABC’s Once Upon A Time.) Speaking of Once Upon A Time, it too was a late order — it was picked up to pilot on Feb. 1, 2011 and was ready for the upfronts, landing a slot of ABC’s fall schedule.

Wonderland is set in modern times and centers on Alice and a new character, Clara. Seven years ago, Clara’s life took an unexplained turn for the worse, and a mysterious stranger tells her there may be an explanation after all… an explanation that lies in the fantastical world of Wonderland. To revive her dreams and get her life back on track, Clara must wage war against Wonderland’s reigning Queen, the woman we once knew as Alice." Deadline.com

Hmmm.

I am not sure about this.

Hopefully it will be good, but it sounds like that if it were to be done right, the world would be a lot of CGI and if you watch Once, you know how that looks....

Hm.

If it happens, I hope it looks awesome and is actually good!

Soooo, what do you think??

Official GAME OF THRONES Season 3 Trailer!! DRAGONS!!

"The fantasy TV series Game of Thrones was renewed for a third season by the U.S. cable channel HBO on April 10, 2012, nine days after the second season's premiere. Like the other seasons, the third season will consist of ten episodes. It will be based roughly on the first half of A Storm of Swords, the third of the A Song of Ice and Fire novels by George R. R. Martin, of which the series is an adaptation. Production began in July 2012, and the season will premiere on March 31, 2013.

Game of Thrones rapidly became a critical and commercial success after it started airing in April 2011. A few days after ratings for the second season's premiere, "The North Remembers", hit a series high of 8.3 million viewers, HBO announced the show's renewal for a third season. Prior to that announcement, there had been rumors and reports that showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss planned to shoot seasons three and four simultaneously. Benioff said that this would be very efficient, but impossible to write.

The ten episodes of the third season are to be longer than the previous season's, about 56 or 57 minutes as opposed to about 52. "

Kiera Cass's THE SELECTION Becoming TV Series on the CW - AMERICA SINGER Cast!!

"EXCLUSIVE: In her first pilot season in the U.S., Israeli actress Yael Grobglas has landed one of the most sought-after roles for young actresses, the lead in the CW drama The Selection. Because of a theater commitment in her native country, I hear Grobglas, who is of French-Austrian decent, only had two weeks to audition in Los Angeles before returning home. They resulted in her booking America Singer.

Set 300 years in the future, The Selection is an epic romance centering on America Singer (Grobglas), a working class young woman chosen by lottery to participate in a competition with 25 other women for the Royal Prince’s hand to become the nation’s next queen. Warner Bros. TV is producing the pilot, written by Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain based on Kiera Cass’ book. Aimee Teegarden, who played America in The Selection last year, is the lead of another CW pilot this year, Oxygen. Two other Selection cast members from last year, Sean Patrick Thomas and Peta Sergeant, are reprising their roles. While an unknown in the U.S., Grobglas has played the lead of a series before – she toplined the Israeli series Tanuhi (Give It A Rest). She is with Thruline and attorney Jamie Feldman." RELEASE Day Review: FUSE by Julianna Baggott!!

"When the world ended, those who dwelled within the Dome were safe. Inside their glass world the Pures live on unscarred, while those outside—the Wretches—struggle to survive amidst the smoke and ash.

Believing his mother was living among the Wretches, Partridge escaped from the Dome to find her. Determined to regain control over his son, Willux, the leader of the Pures, unleashes a violent new attack on the Wretches. It’s up to Pressia Belze, a young woman with her own mysterious past, to decode a set of cryptic clues from the past to set the Wretches free.

An epic quest that sweeps readers into a world of beautiful brutality, Fuse continues the story of two people fighting to save their futures—and change the fate of the world."

If you read my review of Pure, the first book in the Pure Trilogy then you know that I LOVED that book. It was dark, it was twisted, it was sad and beautiful and real. I devoured and adored it.

Sadly, it is often the case in a book series that the sophomore books is lacking, as if the author ran outta steam when writing it. It just does not measure up to its predecessor, which obviously, sucks and Fuse by Juliana Baggott was not one of those books!!

(did i get ya?)

It was flawless.

Truly. I loved this book even more then Pure. I read it much quicker which is crazy 'cus it was longer, but I couldn't help it. It was incredible.

Julianna has the ability to write such beautiful prose that is not only a treat for wordeaters, but it also progresses the story along in quick, sharp and intelligent succession so that there is never a dull moment.

The stakes are up from Pure and everyone, from Pressia, to Patridge to Lydia and Bradwell and El Captian are being challenged and threatened to such extremes that everything is changing for not only them, but the world as they know it. I CANNOT give anything away, 'cus you need to be surprised, but if you thought you knew this world, you knew nothin'!

The plot runs like a well oiled machine and everything starts to come together like a mad treasure hunt only for it all to be devastated and buried with lies and deceit. Fuse was an endless whirlwind that I was consumed by and I have not a clue how I can wait a year for the final installment in this beautifully strange series.

It's gonna be a long year....

.....But it will be worth it!!

HARRY POTTER Series Gets ALL NEW Covers!?!?!

The novels revolve around Harry Potter, an orphan who discovers at the age of eleven that he is a wizard, living within the ordinary world of non-magical, or Muggle, people. His ability is inborn and such children are invited to attend a school that teaches the necessary skills to succeed in the wizarding world. Harry becomes a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and it is here where most of the novels' events take place. As Harry develops through his adolescence, he learns to overcome the problems that face him: magical, social and emotional, including ordinary teenage challenges such as friendships and exams, and the greater test of preparing himself for the confrontation that lies ahead.

Maggie Stiefvater THE DREAM THIEVES Cover Reveal!! yikes.

“There are only two reasons a non-seer would see a spirit on St. Mark’s Eve,” Neeve said. “Either you’re his true love . . . or you killed him.”

It is freezing in the churchyard, even before the dead arrive.

Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue herself never sees them—not until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks directly to her.

His name is Gansey, and Blue soon discovers that he is a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble.

But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can’t entirely explain. He has it all—family money, good looks, devoted friends—but he’s looking for much more than that. He is on a quest that has encompassed three other Raven Boys: Adam, the scholarship student who resents all the privilege around him; Ronan, the fierce soul who ranges from anger to despair; and Noah, the taciturn watcher of the four, who notices many things but says very little.

For as long as she can remember, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love to die. She never thought this would be a problem. But now, as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she’s not so sure anymore.

From Maggie Stiefvater, the bestselling and acclaimed author of the Shiver trilogy and The Scorpio Races, comes a spellbinding new series where the inevitability of death and the nature of love lead us to a place we’ve never been before."-

Release Day Review: THE GATHERING DARK by Christine Johnson!!

"A mysterious teen boy knows the secrets of Keira’s dangerous hallucinations in this gripping romantic fantasy from the author of Claire de Lune.

Keira’s hallucinating. First it’s a door hovering above the road; then it’s a tree in her living room. But with her parents fighting and her best friend not speaking to her, Keira can’t tell anyone about her breakdown.

Until she meets Walker. They have an electric connection, and somehow he can see the same shadowy images plaguing Keira.

But trusting Walker may be more dangerous than Keira could have ever imagined. The more she confides in him, the more intense—and frightening—her visions become. Because Walker is not what he appears to be. And neither are her visions."

PreOrder Here!!

The Gathering Dark tells the story of dark forces battling the forces of the light.

Kiera was for the most part, a good protag. I did not 'love' her relationship with Walker because even though she constantly said that she did not want a boyfriend and did not need anyone, Walker was still there for her and protecting her and she let him. I didn't care for that bit of her personality, but other then that, she provided me with a character who had a good sense of self. Kiera knew what she wanted in life and knew what she stood for and she wasn't (mostly) going to let anyone get in her way.

The use of music in the story was a very big surprise and since it's sorta spoiling I don't want to get into details. Just know that music plays a key role, like a character itself. I did appreciate though,  that Johnson did seem to know what she was talking about in regards to the musical element of the novel. It truly did add to the experience as a whole.

The character development was great and the author fleshed out believable people that had their own personalities and you could figure who they were through their own dialogue.

While the writing was pretty good and moved at a nice flow, the first half of the book was a lot of build-up leading to drama, fantastical and the creepy second half. That was my only qualm - that it took many pages for the hallucinations to have real prominence and for the plot to start.

Overall, The Gathering Dark by Christine Johnson was a great book, that while slow at times, is well worth the push in order to get to the fantastical and plot driven second half that will leave you wanting the sequel!

Are you gonna read it??

Lauren Olivers' DELIRIUM TV Series LENA Gets Cast!!!

"Emma Roberts has been tapped as the lead of Delirium, Fox‘s drama pilot from Karyn Usher, 20th TV and Chernin Entertainment. Based on Lauren Oliver’s bestselling book trilogy about a world where love is deemed illegal and can be eradicated with a special procedure. With 95 days to go until her scheduled treatment, Lena Holoway (Roberts) does the unthinkable: she falls in love. Usher executive produces the pilot with Peter Chernin, Katherine Pope and Paula Mazur.

This marks Roberts’ return to television, where she rose to fame as the teenage star of the Nickelodeon series Unfabulous. The actress, daughter of Eric Roberts and niece of Julia Roberts, had been focused on features for the past six years despite multiple pilot offers from the broadcast networks. Roberts, repped by CAA and manager David Sweeney, recently completed the New Line comedy We’re The Millers, Lionsgate’s Empire State and the indie Palo Alto Stories." Courtesy of Deadline.com

Personally, I do not like this.

I have nothing against Emma Roberts, I think she is beautiful and a good actress, but all I will see when I watch her playing Lena is just that - Emma Roberts playing Lena. For me they should have gotten someone more unknown to be Lena so we could visualize Lena completely and then just cast bigger names as the other characters.

Hrm.

I'm not sure. I really hope this works out, not only for us fans, but for Lauren Oliver herself. It must be really amazing to know your book will be brought to life airing every single week on TV.

Only time shall tell--

ALL New BRIDGET JONES Book Coming SOON?!!?

"Alfred A. Knopf announced that it plans to publish Helen Fielding's new Bridget Jones book, her third, in November 2013. Horrifying math: the original Bridget Jones's Diary came out 17 years ago. I now pronounce myself (and Bridget) old.

Fielding broke the news that she was working on the book last November on an English radio program. She's said very little about it, except that Bridget will be tweeting as well as still dieting, it will be set in contemporary London anad it won't follow the same storyline as the possibly ill-fated third Bridget Jones movie, which reportedly involves our Bridget having a baby. (I say possibly ill-fated because good old dodgy Hugh Grant has been a bit dodgy about whether or not he wants to do it--he's in, he's out, he's in again--and producer Working Title Films has copped to some kinks with the screenplay.) She also mentioned that Bridget is still dieting. Here's what she told the BBC's Woman's Hour:

"In the same way as the first Bridget book was looking at the way a 30-something single woman was branded as a tragic spinster, and then we got the new idea of a singleton, [the new book] will be looking at later phases in life when you get branded as a certain thing," she said, "and you don't have to be that at all and it's all outdated and ridiculous. I'm having a lot of fun and it's very funny and it's making me laugh. It's a bit scary bringing out another one but I'm really enjoying writing it."

I interviewed Fielding way back when the first book came out in the States. It was already the rage in England. We had tea at the Ritz in San Francisco and Fielding was lovely and way more together than you'd ever imagine the creator of our favorite mess would be. This was at a point when I was a childless singleton looking for love and was so taken with Bridget that I wrote the entire interview in Fielding's style. I had her sign my book. Doubtless, I fawned. (Seventeen years ago people.)"

Release Date Review: THE COLOSSUS RISES (Seven Wonders # 1)

"One Boy

Jack McKinley is an ordinary kid with an extraordinary problem. In a few months, he’s going to die.

One Mission

Jack needs to find seven magic loculi that, when combined, have the power to cure him.

One Problem

The loculi are the relics of a lost civilization and haven’t been seen in thousands of years.

Seven Wonders

Because they’re hidden in the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

The thrills begin in The Colossus Rises, the first installment in the epic seven-book adventure series Seven Wonders, from master storyteller and bestselling 39 Clues series author Peter Lerangis. The highly anticipated series has received early praise from Rick Riordan, author of the Percy Jackson series, who says, “A high-octane mix of modern adventure and ancient secrets, The Colossus Rises is Lerangis’s most gripping work yet. Young readers will love this story. I can’t wait to see what’s next in the Seven Wonders series!”

Buy Colossus Rises NOW!!

I enjoyed Colossus Rises!

While some may not like it, I felt it was a fun and eventful book that is surely going to excite those who are fans of Percy Jackson or Charlie Bone. While it may by no means be Harry Potter (honestly, what is?) it was a great adventure that I'm sure fans of HP can appreciate and fans of PJ will completely love!

Colossus Rises is def meant for a younger audience which is obvious through it's writing style and character dialogue, it was still an intelligent book and though it was yes, childish at times, I made sure to remember that it WAS a child's book and took it with a grain of salt (is that the saying? hrm)

All of the characters introduced where fun and added to make the world much more developed, but with that being said, I would have liked more of the universe of the Seven Wonders to have been fleshed out but I assume that will be done in the next 6 books!

Over all, this book is for those who are looking for a fun, VERY fast paced read filled with magic and adventure, tons of humor and a little danger to keep you on your toes.

I can not wait for the sequel and recommend it for anyone looking to get a younger person into reading.

Review: ENTANGLEMENT by Dan Rix!!

"...the scientific explanation is quantum entanglement, whereby the boy and girl—even when separated by great distances—react instantaneously to changes in each other's states..." —Dr. Casler Selavio, on the entanglement of halves.

In a world like ours, humans are born in pairs. When a newborn boy takes his first breath in the coastal town of Tularosa, the exact time is noted, recorded in the Registry, and later compared to the birth times of other newborns around the globe. There will be one identical match—his half. They will meet on their eighteenth birthday and they will spend their lives together. Except this time, there is no match.

Hotheaded heartthrob Aaron Harper is scheduled to meet his half in twenty-nine days, and he doesn’t buy a word of that entanglement crap. So what if he and his half were born the same day and share a spooky psychic connection? Big deal. After breaking one too many teenage girls’ hearts, he’ll stick to brawling with the douchebag rugby players any day.

Until the day a new girl arrives at school and threatens everything he takes for granted.

Cold and unapproachable, Amber Lilian hates the growing list of similarities between her and the one boy she can’t read, Aaron: born the same day, both stubborn, both terrified of meeting their halves. . . . All the more reason not to trust him. That she would rather die than surrender herself as her half’s property is none of his damn business. But once lost in Aaron’s dangerous, jet black eyes, she’s already surrendered more than she cares to admit.

Tangled in each other’s self-destructive lives, Aaron and Amber learn the secret behind their linked births and why they feel like halves—but unless they can prove it before they turn eighteen, Aaron faces a lifetime alone in a world where everyone else has a soul mate . . . and he’ll have to watch Amber give herself to a boy who intends to possess not only her body but also a chunk of her soul."

Buy ENTANGLEMENT NOW For Only $2.99!!

I read Entanglement a few weeks ago and I have been so busy with school that I have not had the time to try and write a review that was both comprehensive and spoiler free, and while honestly, I'm still do not have that much free time, I needed to write this review so that is exactly what I'm doing.

I'm going to start off by saying that Entanglement was a pretty great book. The concept of the story was completely awesome and I'm surprised someone has not come up with it before because it was sorta brilliant. There are a lot of YA novels including dystopians that deal with love and wanting to be with someone, but Entanglement while not being fixated on ooey gooey love, was about love or at least soul mates, the person you are meant to be with, whether you really want to or not is another story. Love is not just a sideline in this book, but rather like Lauren Oliver's Delirium, it is an actual part of the plot.

You are the soulmate of someone because your time of births are compatible...that's crazy, but in a very good way that lead to a very good story.

The only real thing I had a problem with was the reason why Aaron's soulmate would be hard to find. It was a physical issue (mostly) and for me it would have had more of an impact if it was just more of a mental/emotional issue that he had to overcome. But that is it. No other real complaints.

The writing was clear and concise, with fast paced descriptions that were not overbearing. Aaron's romance with Amber was good. I'm not a romance buff, so I can live without it especially if it is love at first sight or love triangles, but with Entanglement it nicely established and evenly paced that the tension they had was believable and enjoyable to read.

Overall, I enjoyed Entanglement by Dan Rix and recommend it to anyone who wants to read an intelligent dystopian with a believable plot!!

Richelle Mead's VA Film Officially Titled VAMPIRE ACADEMY: BLOOD SISTERS Gets CAST And Director!!?!!

"First announced back in 2010, Richelle Mead's hit book series Vampire Academy is headed to the big screen. Today, Deadline announces that Mean Girls director Mark Waters has signed on to direct the first film in a planned franchise with a cast that now includes Zoey Deutch, Lucy Fry and Danila Kozlovski. The title has been amended as well and the first film will now be known as Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters.

The
Vampire Academy book series is a coming-of-age, action driven, "paranormal romance" fantasy. It is set in the present day against a hidden universe of vampires, half-humans, alchemy, and magic. The series centers on a strong, yet flawed, 17-year-old female who confronts her world with grit, determination, and lots of moxie. Rose Hathaway is a dhampir, half human/half vampire and guardian of the Moroi, a race of peaceful and magical mortal vampires who can walk in the daylight, survive by feeding off willing blood donors, grow old and die. Hidden deep in the forests of Montana is St. Vladimir's Academy, where Moroi and dhampirs learn to take their place in Moroi society. Rose must master her inherited abilities as a dhampir and earn the approval of the Royal Council, as guardian to Princess Lissa, her best friend and sole heir of one of the twelve Royal families of Moroi. Rose and Lissa share a mysterious psychic bond and sense of destiny, but first they must survive an intense social scene, politics and the physical challenges of Moroi life at the Academy. Outside the sanctuary of St. Vladimir's waits their greatest threat of all, the Strigoi, a race of bloodthirsty immortal vampires and predators of the Moroi.

Deutch, who stars in the upcoming Beautiful Creatures will play Rose with newcomers Fry as Lissa and Kozlovski as Dmitri.

Susan Montford, Don Murphy, Deepak Nayer and Michael Preger will produce with Stuart Ford executive producing."

Not 100% sure about the casting and why the title alteration???

hrm.

For some reason I'm seeing this as more of a straight to dvd sorta thing and honestly I'm surprised they are even making it.

Vampires are sorta dead. pun.

Dystopian is the thing now.

Plus, it would make a better TV series.

Great books though!!

Only time shall tell--

Melissa de la Cruz's WITCHES OF EAST END Becomes LIFETIME TV Series!!!

"Lifetime is going to spend some time in the East End.

The network has given a 10-episode order to the series "Witches of East End," the network said Thursday. The series, which is based on the best-selling novel by Melissa de la Cruz, will star Julia Ormond, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Rachel Boston and Madchen Amick.

Ormond will star as Joanna Beauchamp, the mother of daughters Freya (Dewan-Tatum) and Ingrid (Boston), who, unbeknownst to them, are their family's next generation of witches, even as they live seemingly boring lives in the Long Island town of East Haven. That changes, however, when Freya becomes engaged, sparking a series of events that force Joanna to reveal the truth.
Amick ("Twin Peaks") will play Joanna's witch sister, Wendy.

"Eastwick" alumna Maggie Friedman will write the pilot for the Fox 21-produced drama, with "Mean Girls" director Mark Waters directing as well as executive producing with 3 Arts Entertainment's Erwin Stoff.

The series will premiere later this year." READ THE REST HERE!

I have not read the East End series, but I have read the first 4 four books of the Blue Bloods series and those were really good and I need to get back to them someday.

Will def be checking the East End book though to prep for the TV series.
