Kate Winslet Cast in Veronica Roth's DIVERGENT Film?!?!

"EW has confirmed an earlier Variety report that Kate Winslet is in talks with Summit Entertainment to co-star in Divergent, the Neil Burger-directed adaptation of the popular Veronica Roth novel that’s due in theaters March 2014.
Shailene Woodley (The Descendants) has already been cast as heroine Beatrice Prior in the YA drama (and intended trilogy), that takes place in a futuristic, dystopian Chicago. The male lead–mysterious and alluring “Four” — has yet to be cast and the studio is mum on the role Winslet is close to taking. But a good guess would be the villainous and brilliant Jeanine Matthews." Courtesy of EntertainmentWeekly.com

This is really awesome news if it holds true.

Kate is a fantastic actor.

I think she may be playing Tris's mom, but if so, why bring in such a known actor only to kill them off in the first film with barely any screen time??

Maybe Tris's mom will make a return in Divergent 3????!

Lauren Oliver's DELIRIUM Trilogy WILL Be A TV Series!!!

"The adaptation rights to Lauren Oliver's hit dystopian Delirium Trilogy were scooped by Fox 2000 back in February, 2011 and while book three is still unreleased at this time, some production news has now come down on that project.

Rather than being adapted into a film series, as is common for the YA Fiction genre these days, Oliver's series will be readied for the small screen!

As announced by TV Line on Tuesday, Prison Break's Karyn Usher scripted and will produce the Fox-ordered drama show.
Oliver responded to the news on her Tumblr page yesterday, writing that the network "decided that due to the complexity of all the side plots and characters, the Delirium series might be better suited for TV, as we’d have a chance to explore all of those elements." Evidently, this has been her authorial preference all along, too.

"I know that some of you are concerned that a TV show will be 'untrue' to the books," she further wrote, "due to the need to add content in order to flesh out the story to a full season. Never fear! Look, the books will always be the books. No adaptation, either for film or TV, will or can completely replicate and remain faithful to them—it’s a totally different art form!" This'll certainly be something to keep a watchful eye on.

For those unfamiliar with this work, the Delirium Trilogy follows a young girl named Lena whose society rids its citizens of feelings of love but who falls for a boy just before her surgical intervention is set to take place. She then goes on the run to face the wild unknown beyond her civilization's boundaries.

Requiem, the series' third and final installment, hits shelves on Mar. 5, 2013." Courtesy of EXAMINER.COM

Fox has a HUGE history of cancelling good shows, so I can only hope this happens and stays on air!!

Cannot wait!!

One of the best writers out there!

PRETTY LITTLE LIARS News: Are They Recasting the LIARS?!?!?

"Pretty Little Liars is a huge hit, which is great. However, if its success continues, the show will be faced with the same dilemma all successful high school shows eventually run into: What do you do when the girls graduate?

"The classic solution is to have all of the characters wind up at the same college, so we wouldn't be shocked to see the Liars at Hollis (though getting Spencer [Troian Bellisario] there would require some impressive manipulations). However, sometimes shows go a different route, and recently executive producer Oliver Goldstick revealed that the PLL Powers That Be have toyed with the idea of introducing four totally new Liars when the current crop graduates.

While we trust the PLL creators, the idea of moving on with four new characters seems awfully hard to us. The Liars are the heart of the show! On the other hand, we've adjusted to big cast changes on shows like Glee and the UK version of Skins, so maybe we'd warm up to newbies on PLL, too.

Of course, this is all very theoretical, since Oliver said the girls probably wouldn't graduate until Season 5 anyway. But we want to know: Would you potentially watch the show without them?

Find more Pretty Little Liars spoilers here." Courtesy of Wetpaint.com

What do you think of this news???

Me: Crazy. But, hm.

Would you watch the show if the four liars left???

Me: Of course, if it still good.

And would you buy them being seniors in season 3, but not graduating high school until season 5????

Me: No. haha. no. Though on Vampire Diaries only a year and half has passed in Mystic Falls compared to the 4 year reality. So. hrmmm.

Also, Spencer found out that Toby is A, what was your reaction??

Me: Damn. So sad, so awesome. *smack*

p.s. I. Marelene King creator of PLL said that watch out, 'cus black hoodies maybe what the A Team wears, but Red is now the new Black. hrmmmm....

MAZE RUNNER's James Dashner's THE EYE OF MINDS Cover Reveal!

"An all-new, edge-of-your seat adventure from James Dashner, the author of the New York Times bestselling Maze Runner series, The Eye of Minds is the first book in The Mortality Doctrine, a series set in a world of hyperadvanced technology, cyberterrorists, and gaming beyond your wildest dreams . . . and your worst nightmares.

Michael is a gamer. And like most gamers, he almost spends more time on the VirtNet than in the actual world. The VirtNet offers total mind and body immersion, and it’s addictive. Thanks to technology, anyone with enough money can experience fantasy worlds, risk their life without the chance of death, or just hang around with Virt-friends. And the more hacking skills you have, the more fun. Why bother following the rules when most of them are dumb, anyway? But some rules were made for a reason. Some technology is too dangerous to fool with. And recent reports claim that one gamer is going beyond what any gamer has done before: he’s holding players hostage inside the VirtNet.

The effects are horrific—the hostages have all been declared brain-dead. Yet the gamer’s motives are a mystery. The government knows that to catch a hacker, you need a hacker. And they’ve been watching Michael. They want him on their team. But the risk is enormous. If he accepts their challenge, Michael will need to go off the VirtNet grid. There are back alleys and corners in the system human eyes have never seen and predators he can’t even fathom—and there’s the possibility that the line between game and reality will be blurred forever."

Sounds brilliant!

RAPE In Literature - Maggie Stiefvater.

"This Is A Post About Literary Rape.

I’ve been a reading machine in the past eighteen days. In fact, I’ve read five novels, across five different genres. One was young adult literary, one was young adult genre, one was an adult literary, and two were adult contemporary fantasies.*

All five featured the main female character getting raped.

By the time I got to book number five, I was so weary, so emotionally drained, so angry. It took me quite awhile to calm down (even if the main character isn’t written as scarred by her experience, I sure as heck am) and parse the source of my rage.

I galloped over to
Facebook and told the world how angry I was. I added that none of the male characters in these books had to undergo a sexually degrading experience in order to come of age or bulk up their character development or move the plot. Facebook replied with a host of suggestions for books with boys being raped in them, but that wasn’t really what I was after. I wasn’t really looking for equal-opportunity violation...." SR: THE DARK BETWEEN by Sonia Gensler!!

"A supernatural romance about the powers that lie in the shadows of the mind, perfect for fans of Sarah Rees Brennan, Alyxandra Harvey, and Libba Bray.

At the turn of the twentieth century, Spiritualism and séances are all the rage—even in the scholarly town of Cambridge, England. While mediums dupe the grief-stricken, a group of local fringe scientists seeks to bridge the gap to the spirit world by investigating the dark corners of the human mind.

Each running from a shadowed past, Kate, Asher, and Elsie take refuge within the walls of Summerfield College. But their peace is soon shattered by the discovery of a dead body nearby. Is this the work of a flesh-and-blood villain, or is something otherworldly at play? This unlikely trio must illuminate what the scientists have not, and open a window to secrets taken to the grave—or risk joining the spirit world themselves."

Anne Hathaway Headlining Shakespeares' THE TAMING OF THE SHREW!!

"Anne Hathaway, fresh from her Golden Globe win for Les Miserables, is set to headline a reimagining of the Shakespearean comedy The Taming of the Shrew. The Wrap reports that the project will set the action in Italy in the middle of the 20th century.

Abi Morgan (Shame, The Iron Lady) will provide the screenplay. No director has been announced.

Hathaway, who also starred this year in The Dark Knight Rises, would likely play the leading role of Katherina, the play's titular "shrew," whose life is overturned when she's forced into marriage with the silver-tongued Petruchio.

Debra Hayward is producing through Working Title Films."
Courtsey of ComingSoon.net.

Okay, why not..?

Debating on whether I like this news, 'cus seriously, who can tackle an E. Taylor role, but it is a nice choice. I just hope she doesn't keep doing these period pieces just to garner the accolades she must know she will receive.

Though Les Mis & her performance - stunning!

"A new Dan Brown novel is coming in May, and the subject is Dante.

Doubleday announced Tuesday that Brown's book is called "Inferno," named for Dante's epic journey in verse. Brown again will feature Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon, the protagonist for his blockbuster "The Da Vinci Code" and for the million-selling follow-up "The Lost Symbol." The book might seem familiar in other ways, as Brown again takes on a masterpiece of Western civilization: "The Da Vinci Code" centered on an iconic painting, the Mona Lisa.

"Although I studied Dante's `Inferno' as a student, it wasn't until recently, while researching in Florence, that I came to appreciate the enduring influence of Dante's work on the modern world," Brown said in a statement. "With this new novel, I am excited to take readers on a journey deep into this mysterious realm.a landscape of codes, symbols, and more than a few secret passageways."
Brown may also be returning to the religious controversies of "The Da Vinci Code," when he infuriated some Catholics by suggesting that Jesus and Mary Magdalene had children. Dante himself was a Catholic who was critical of church leaders.

"Inferno" comes out May 14, a week before another likely top seller of 2013, Khaled Hosseini's "And the Mountains Echoed."

I have read many of Brown's books so I am thrilled to know that a new one is coming out soon!

Plus it sounds like it will be very interesting! His books are addictive!

And a week before Khaled's latest novel as well??

If you haven't read The Kite Runner -- missin' out!

Have you read any of Dan Browns' books???

"The series follows the life of Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) a 17-year-old girl, who falls deeply in love with a 162-year-old vampire named Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley). Their relationship becomes increasingly complicated as Stefan's vicious, and malevolent older brother Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) returns with a plan to wreak havoc on the town and a revenge against his younger brother. Both brothers begin to show affection towards Elena, mainly because of her resemblance to their past love Katherine Pierce. It is revealed that Elena is a descendant of Katherine, who eventually returns with plans against the trio.

The series is set in the fictional town of Mystic Falls, Virginia, a town charged with supernatural history since its settlement of migrants from New England in the late 17th century. Other story lines revolve around the other inhabitants of the town, most notably Elena's younger brother Jeremy Gilbert (Steven R. McQueen), her best friends Bonnie Bennett (Katerina Graham) and Caroline Forbes (Candice Accola) and their mutual friends Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino) and Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig). The town's politics are orchestrated by descendants of the original founding families, all comprising a "Founders' Council". Some of the founding families of Mystic Falls include the Salvatores, the Gilberts, the Fells, the Forbes and the Lockwoods. They guard the town mainly from vampires, although there are other supernatural threats such as werewolves, witches, ghosts and hybrids."

VD is one of my favorite shows on TV and I am not sure how I feel about this.

I understand it is sorta of the Angel spinoff to Buffy, but that means sooooooooo much will change on VD.

No Klaus and Caroline will ever happen and if they kill Caroline off the show, I will not take it kindly. She is my favorite character. There will be blood - as least in a proverbial sense.

I guess she could always leave VD with him . . .. .

Only time shall tell and though I may not be 100% on board, I cannot wait to see how it turns out!

And I have faith in Julie Plec. Four years of amazing TV and I have never been let down once!

Maggie Stiefvater, Brandon Mull NEW BOOK Series SPIRIT ANIMALS!!

"Scholastic has announced the fall 2013 launch of Spirit Animals, the company’s first multi-platform series in the fantasy genre. As with the publisher’s 39 Clues and Infinity Ring series, the Spirit Animals books will be written by different authors and will be linked to a simultaneously released online game. The story arc for the seven-book middle-grade series was created by Brandon Mull, author of the Beyonders and Fablehaven series; he will also write the debut novel, Wild Born, due out September 10. YA series maven Maggie Stiefvater (the Shiver trilogy, The Scorpio Races, and the Raven Cycle) has signed on to pen the second installment, scheduled for January 2014. Subsequent authors and pub months will be announced at a later date.

Spirit Animals is set in the world of Erdas, where children go through a coming-of-age ritual to determine if they have a “spirit animal,” which represents a bond between human and beast that bestows each with great power. The story centers on four children from different cultures who undergo the ritual and discover they have been chosen for a greater destiny...." Read More NOW!

"The revolution has been sparked. In this week’s cover story, EW traveled to Waikiki, Hawaii where cast and crew were in the final days of production on the eagerly anticipated Hunger Games sequel, Catching Fire (in theaters Nov. 21). Just as the revolution that could embolden the people of Panem rests on young Katniss Everdeen’s shoulders, the success of the franchise depends largely upon Jennifer Lawrence. After spending the day outrunning death in a nearby jungle, the 22-year-old actress ordered herself a Budweiser and kicked back in the Trump balcony lounge to discuss the sequel, her life now as a blockbuster star, and her willful inability to behave like the nice sound-bite machine Hollywood might expect her to be. “It’s almost like I subconsciously don’t want to work anymore so I’m trying to ruin my career,” she says with a
laugh at one point, before leaning in close to the reporter’s tape recorder. “I’m pregnant!” she joked....." READ MORE NOW!

Veronica Roth's DIVERGENT Film - Tobias 'Four' FINALLY Cast?!?!

"In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles to determine who her friends really are—and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes infuriating boy fits into the life she's chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers a growing conflict that threatens to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves . . . or it might destroy her.

Debut author Veronica Roth bursts onto the literary scene with the first book in the Divergent series—dystopian thrillers filled with electrifying decisions, heartbreaking betrayals, stunning consequences, and unexpected romance."

Personally Lucas Till looks WAAAAY too smug. Might be a nice guy in real life, but he seems like he would make a better bad guy, perhaps Peter??

Alex Pettyfer is WAAAAY too known, with mostly flops under his belt. He would make a good-ish Four, but Hollywood has literally considered him for every YA lead role and I'm not sure I like that. He cannot possibly be everyone....They want him for his looks.

So basically I want someone else and Jeremy Irvine does seem like the best choice here. I have never seen him anything and he LOOKS like how I imagined Four.

Jeremy is my bet!

What do you think?

Lucas, Alex or Jeremy??

Only one can come out alive in the Hunger Games be Four!!

"The first book in an exciting YA trilogy, this is the story of two best friends on the verge of a terrifying divide when they begin to encounter a cast of strange and mythical characters.

Set against the lush, magical backdrop of the Pacific Northwest, two inseparable best friends who have grown up like sisters—the charismatic, mercurial, and beautiful Aurora and the devoted, soulful, watchful narrator—find their bond challenged for the first time ever when a mysterious and gifted musician named Jack comes between them. Suddenly, each girl must decide what matters most: friendship, or love.

What both girls don’t know is that the stakes are even higher than either of them could have imagined. They’re not the only ones who have noticed Jack’s gift; his music has awakened an ancient evil—and a world both above and below which may not be mythical at all. The real and the mystical; the romantic and the heartbreaking all begin to swirl together, carrying the two on journey that is both enthralling and terrifying.

And it’s up to the narrator to protect the people she loves—if she can."
