The UNAIRED Pilot of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER!! Awesome.

The non-broadcast pilot episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer was produced by 20th Century Fox in 1996 to pitch a series to networks. The twenty-five-and-a-half-minute production was written and directed by Buffy creator Joss Whedon, and was expanded upon and re-shot for the first episode of the series. It is notable for featuring a different actress in the role of Willow, and a different actor as Principal Flutie.

After having burned down her school gym and been expelled from school in L.A., Buffy Summers has moved to Sunnydale with her mother. Buffy goes to school for the first time at Sunnydale High and meets new people: Cordelia, Willow, and Xander. Willow is lured by a vampire into a trap. Buffy shows up with Xander and kills all the vampires except one; the surviving vampire reports the incident back to The Master.

THIS  is AWESOME!!!

Love the shows' chosen Willow played by Alison Hannigan, 'cus she was perfection!

Buffy is my favorite show of all time!

Did you watch Buffy?

Love it, right??!

THE HUNGER GAMES Film Breaks Online Ticket Sales Records!!!

"If early ticket sales mean anything, "The Hunger Games" is going to be a blockbuster.
Lions Gate's upcoming adaptation of the best-selling book series has broken Fandango.com's record for sales on the first day a film's tickets become available. The previous record was for the 2010 release of "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse."

The online movie ticket retailer said Thursday, a day after the tickets went on sale, that it had already sold out "hundreds" of showtimes for the movie's opening weekend, which starts March 23. Many of the tickets sold are for midnight showtimes March 22, evidence that fans are building up a "Twilight"-style mania to see the film as early as possible.

"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" went on to sell $300 million in tickets domestically. However, some movies, like January's "The Devil Inside," generate red-hot early ticket sales but quickly fall off after their first weekend in theaters."

This is great news!!

I'm predicting that the Hunger Games film will make about 500 million dollars world wide!!

I will def be seeing it at midnight!

Is Stephenie Meyer Pissed About Future TWILIGHT SAGA Films???!

Twilight is a series of four vampire-themed fantasy romance novels by American author Stephenie Meyer. It charts a period in the life of Isabella "Bella" Swan, a teenage girl who moves to Forks, Washington, and falls in love with a 104-year-old vampire named Edward Cullen. The series is told primarily from Bella's point of view, with the epilogue of Eclipse and Part II of Breaking Dawn being told from the viewpoint of character Jacob Black, a werewolf.

"A tweet from Variety reporter Josh Dickey stated, "Stephenie Meyer was deeply annoyed that LG brass said they'd do more TWILIGHT pics. She has no such intention."

While Steph might have been 'annoyed' at the rumors, this is what she said on her website:

"Hey all,

Just wanted to clear up a little rumor making the rounds. I have absolutely no issues with anyone at Lionsgate. Far from being a negative thing, it's actually a very nice feeling to know that both Lionsgate and Summit would like to make another Twilight movie if I were ever to write another Twilight book. So, thanks for the support, Lionsgate and Summit. I look forward to working for the first time with new friends at Lionsgate and working again with my old friends at Summit!

Steph"

So is she annoyed or fine with it or just trying to look like she is not ripping off heads.....?!

What are your thoughts??

Teaser Tuedsay: CHOSEN ONES by Tiffany Truitt!!

"In the not-too-distant future, the world was irrevocably changed when women mysteriously lost the ability to reproduce. Faced with humanity’s extinction, the Council of Creators was begun to find alternative methods of creating life. The resulting artificial beings, or Chosen Ones, were extraordinarily beautiful, unbelievably strong, and unabashedly deadly.

Life is bleak but uncomplicated for sixteen-year-old Tess until she begins work at Templeton, a Chosen Ones training facility, and she meets James. The attraction between the two is immediate in its intensity—and overwhelming in its danger.

But there is more to the goings-on at Templeton than Tess ever knew. Will she be able to stand up to her oppressors, even if it means giving up the only happiness in her life?

Tiffany Truitt’s debut, first in a new trilogy, is a searing look at how we define humanity, as well as a celebration of the dangerously wonderful feeling of falling in love."

Teaser!:

"One arm, obviously longer than the other, was covered in cuts
and bruises. It hung halfway off the medical table. The legs, which
appeared to be broken, lay at such jarring angles that it seemed
geometrically impossible they should exist. There were fresh scars and
stitches covering the small thing’s abdomen.
And the blood. It was everywhere. A memory whispered to me. I
had seen something like this before. Something to do with my father.
I couldn’t turn away, unable to deny what I saw. I noticed the dirt
and blood that lingered under its fingernails...."

Sounds good, eh??

Happy Teasers Everyone!!

Repost: Emma Watson is Belle in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST Live Action Film!!!!????

Guillermo del Torro and Crazy, Stupid, Love, producer Denise Di Novi have reportedly chosen Emma Watson to play the Beauty in the live action remake of Beauty and the Beast!
This film is following the remake of other classic tales such as Sleeping Beauty's remake, Maleficent by Tim Burton, Alice in Wonderland and Snow White which has two films, Lily Collins and Kristen Stewart each respectively as the leads.

Emma's current projects include The Perks of Being a Wallflower and My Week with Marilyn.

I think that this is a really great idea and Emma is actually perfect for the role. I can honestly see her as the Beauty!

p.s. i think both of these pictures perfectly illustrate fairytales/beauty and the beast....

I hope this project comes to fruition and that Emma is cast as Beauty, 'cus it will surely mean she is still in the acting game and will hopefully have a really amazing and promising career.

Cassie Clare - THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS Film Has Been Dropped!!!!??? what.

"Sad news, "Mortal Instruments" fans. Screen Gems, the studio set to produce the big-screen adaptation of Cassandra Clare's urban fantasy, has untethered itself from the project, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Starring Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower, all signs pointed to a 2012 production date for the film, with "Priest" director Scott Stewart at the helm. "Pretty Little Liars" writer I. Marlene King had penned a revised version of the script, which she handed into the brass at Sony (Screen Gems' parent company) last fall. Scott has since left the project to work on the TV version of the studio's flick "Legion."

What this means for "The Mortal Instruments" movie is still unclear. According to THR, Constantin Film, which owns the rights, could seek funding elsewhere or fund the project themselves.

Set in New York City, "The Mortal Instruments" follows teen Clary Fray as she discovers her family's roots as half-human, half-angel demon slayers known as Shadowhunters.

Update: Thank you to several readers who pointed out this post from author Cassandra Clare explaining what this news means for the movie. In a nutshell:

"Really, this makes no difference to anything. I know words like 'dropped' sound shocking and horrifying but in this context, it doesn’t mean much. I talked to Constantin last week and actually gave them a list of actors I liked for Simon (because why not?), and they gave me a schedule they expected to start filming by (August.)"" Cited from: http://hollywoodcrush.mtv.com/2012/02/13/mortal-instruments-movie-dropped-by-screen-gems/

I personally think the film should be dropped completely, 'cus it won't be successful, not like people hope. I want it to, but I just can't see it being done right in a film version.

That being said, I think it should become a TV series. The world Cassie Clare has created is so expansive and rich, and could easly become a cult classic TV show in lieu of Buffy and Supernatural, but on a network that has high ratings.

Film or TV, I hope it is made and I will def be watching!!!

Release Date Repost: THE BUTTERFLY CLUES by Kate Ellison!!!

Happy Release Day The Butterfly Clues and Congrats to Kate Ellison!!

The Butterfly Clues is a well written drama about murder, mystery and love, mixed with just the right touch of wit and extremely interesting characters!!
Author: Kate Ellison
Release Date: February 14, 2012
Age Group: YA
Publisher: EgmontUSA
Page Count: 336
Source: ARC (Netgalley & EgmontUSA)
Rating: BOTTOM OF PAGE

Description:

"Penelope (Lo) Marin has always loved to collect beautiful things. Her dad's consulting job means she's grown up moving from one rundown city to the next, and she's learned to cope by collecting (sometimes even stealing) quirky trinkets and souvenirs in each new place--possessions that allow her to feel at least some semblance of home.

But in the year since her brother Oren's death, Lo's hoarding has blossomed into a full-blown, potentially dangerous obsession. She discovers a beautiful, antique butterfly pendant during a routine scour at a weekend flea market, and recognizes it as having been stolen from the home of a recently murdered girl known only as "Sapphire"--a girl just a few years older than Lo. As usual when Lo begins to obsess over something, she can't get the murder out of her mind.

As she attempts to piece together the mysterious "butterfly clues," with the unlikely help of a street artist named Flynt, Lo quickly finds herself caught up in a seedy, violent underworld much closer to home than she ever imagined--a world, she'll ultimately discover, that could hold the key to her brother's tragic death."

The Cover: The cover is amazing! I really love it and whoever designed it did a brilliant job! It also actually has something to do with the story itself. 5 out of 5!!
Teaser Quote: "I think you're being slightly paranoid." Graham exchanges a look with Pike . . . "Have you ever experienced delusions? Hallucinations of any kind?" She pauses, asks in a gentle sing-song voice of principals and priests. " Have you ever heard any voices?"
"No - no!" The words push forward, my fists pound the table. " I'm not paranoid. I need your help. You - you have to help me." Page 215.

My Thoughts . . . .

The Butterfly Clues by Kate Ellison is not the typical YA book or rather not the kind of YA book that is considered 'popular', but I would really like to see more books like this, because though it wasn’t perfection, it was extremely refreshing and interesting and honestly, really really really good.
Though something’s I found annoying, such as the sometimes jumpiness, the story threads, the police – actually I found them really annoying and Lo getting herself into rather crazy situations annoying (now that I think about it, I like them ‘cus they sorta reminded me of Veronica Mars) the book was a good, solid read!
Lo was a good protag. She was completely herself and a unique character. Lo had OCD and some other problems that hindered her personally, but really added to her character. She had to perform rituals that are usual with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, like having to say names threefold, and this really played a key point to the story itself. I love it when the character's personality have an effect on the story! Lo was NOT a Mary Sue and was not a goody-goody. She stole and she lied, like, a lot and I liked it. I like when the reader gets to experience real and flawed characters, which she and most others were and though her lying may or may not have been due to her OCD, I loved that she did it because it added another layer to her character. Plus the stealing provided her with some sort of emotional connection that she was otherwise lacking. I also enjoyed that she dressed up like a stripper (hilarious), but that’s something you have to read to understand. Lo was a lonely character who was determined to find the truth behind her brother, Oren and Sapphire's, mysterious deaths (while still having normal, teen problems), no matter what and everything she goes through, the reader feels as well and that is due to the simple, yet intriguing and realistic writing style.
Ellison writes in a simple way that is to the point, while still maintaining descriptions. The story moves along nicelly and only really ‘stalls’ a few times, but it doesn’t last long. Ellison is a really, good writer and I enjoyed the story more than I probably would have simply because of the way she writes! The writing/story is emotional and realistic and very strong. There was something’s I thought came too easily to the characters, some clues or hints or whatnot's, but the way it was written was so suspenseful that it didn’t matter, because I was engaged in the writing, as everything was built up to a climax with words.
For me the most powerful characters where the protag herself, Lo and her love interest Flynt. While Lo was this obsessive, stern, kind of controlling character, Flynt was her opposite, a very laid back guy, who is only ‘mature’ and serious around Lo. The pair were a very nice match romantically and character wise and I really liked that Ellison did not put in the overly dramatic angst, with no plausible outcome love story, but instead had a very nice and organic, yet still angst-y romance - They are teenagers after all :^))). Once again – refreshing. Her mom and dad were not the best parents (understatement), especially her dad and though nicely written, they were two characters I did not like, which is a good thing in this case.
In the end, The Butterfly Clues by Kate Ellison delivers, despite the sometimes bumpy ride. Though the story is serious in context, there is a lot of character wit that will having you laughing out loud, which I thought was very smart and needed for this story. It is a book that will hook you from the beginning. You will be reading non-stop, entranced with the writing, wanting to know what happens to the characters, what happens next and you wont stop until you have reached its, grand, pretty darn emotional ending!
Question: Should you read, read, read?

Answer: Yes, Yes, Yes!!

Story: 4/5
Pace: 3.5/5
Originality: 4/5
Characters: 4/5
Writing: 4/5
Ending: 4.5/5

The Butterfly Clues is 4 Hearts out of 5!!

The Official HUNGER GAMES Film Music Video! Taylor Swift/The Civil Wars - Safe and Sound!!!

"At an unidentified future date, the nation of Panem has risen out of the ruins of what was once known as North America. Due to an uprising by the districts of Panem, a raffle is held to choose one boy and girl, aged 12–18, from each of the 12 districts to risk their lives in the Hunger Games, a ruthless competition in which each contestant, or tribute, tries to kill the others until only one is left alive. The winner receives honor, gifts, and enough food and supplies to never worry for anything material again. The Games, while entertainment for the Capitol's citizens, are a yearly reminder to the 12 districts of their unsuccessful rebellion 75 years ago, during which District 13 was completely destroyed.

In District 12, sixteen year-old Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) cares for her mother and her sister Primrose "Prim" (Willow Shields) since her father died in a mine accident when she was 11. Each year, since the age of 12, Katniss has put her name in the lottery, or reaping, more than once. In return for taking this extra annual risk, she receives extra grain and oil for her family. In addition, Katniss has been illegally hunting for food outside the gates of District 12 with her friend Gale (Liam Hemsworth), whose father died in the same mining accident as Katniss' and who similarly cares for his family.

Prim, now age 12, has her name placed in the reaping for the first time — only once — and it is unexpectedly drawn. Katniss watches as Prim is taken away by four peacekeepers, and volunteers to replace her sister in the Games. She competes with other tributes, including trained "Career Tributes" who have been illegally training for the Games their entire lives, as well as Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson), the male tribute from District 12, who has secretly loved Katniss since childhood, and who once did her a kindness she never could forget. Haymitch Abernathy (Woody Harrelson), a drunk and the only living victor from District 12, mentors both Katniss and Peeta before and during the Hunger Games."

TWILIGHT: BREAKING DAWN PT 2 TRAILER and THE HUNGER GAMES!?!?!

"In a move that should not surprise many, Lionsgate announced this morning during a Q3 call with investors that the first trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 will debut with every print of The Hunger Games in theaters on March 23. The move was to be expected with Lionsgate recently acquiring Summit Entertainment, which previously distributed the "Twilight Saga" films.

Lionsgate Chief Executive Officer Jon Feltheimer said: "We're very excited about the opportunities created by our recent acquisition of Summit Entertainment. The February 11 home entertainment release of 'Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn 1,' the March 23 theatrical release of 'Hunger Games' and the November 16 theatrical release of 'Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn 2' lead a strong combined slate that we believe will enable us to deliver increased consistency, profitability and value to our shareholders."

Naturally, the studio also said that it would support Stephenie Meyer if she was to write another "Twilight" book, considering how much Summit has earned with the franchise already."

THE HUNGER GAMES Film Will NOT Be Narrated by Katniss Everdeen?!?!?

ABOVE The Hunger Games Soundtrack Cover Art!!

"For our fellow “Hunger Games” fans who are following each and every detail released about the upcoming big-screen adaptation, one of the key questions is how the filmmakers will address the fact that a large amount of the story is told via Katniss’ inner monologue. Will we be hearing Jennifer Lawrence narrate throughout the film via voice-over or will we see the action from multiple characters’ perspectives?

Today is our lucky day, because we have an answer straight from director Gary Ross himself, who told MTV News recently that after much careful consideration he is not using any voice-over.

I’m not using voice-over for her. This thing is all from Katniss’ perspective,” he said of the story. “It is a first-person point of view. How do we put the viewer immediately and urgently in that experience they had when they read the book and they’re in Katniss Everdeen’s shoes? A lot of that is done cinematically. I spent a lot of time wondering and thinking about at the beginning of this process, ‘What does it really mean to be in the character’s point of view cinematically?’ I looked at a lot of really interesting references for that, but it comes down to: You don’t know more than the character knows.”

Ross said we will be experiencing everything from Katniss’ perspective; we just won’t be hearing her talk us through it.

You wonder about what she’s wondering about, you worry about what she’s worrying about,” he explained. “You don’t know things she doesn’t know, and as such, you wander and experience things through her eyes, so that’s the first job: How do we make people feel they’re walking in Katniss’ shoes and encountering the same obstacles and challenges she is?” he said. “A lot is done cinematically and a lot is having someone as good as Jen Lawrence.”

The “Pleasantville” and “Seabiscuit” helmer was cagey when asked about the specific look and style of the film but did promise they did everything they could to make things as realistic and believable as possible.

I don’t want to start giving specific scenes away, I know you understand that. I will say movies can do a lot in imagery where you can assimilate at lot of the world there pretty quickly,” he said when asked how much backstory he felt he needed to include or whether he’ll just jump right into the story at the start of the film. “The trick there is to make the world as real and as specific as it was when you read the book, be very precise about the production design and what this world looks like, and I think we’ve created a pretty vivid world.”" Courtesy of http://movienight.mtv.ca/2012/02/the-hunger-games-wont-be-narrated-by-katniss/

Review Release Day Repost: PURE by Julianna Baggott (3 of 3)!!!!

Congrats to Julianna!!! Congrats for PURE!!! A truly amazing novel!! Happy Release Day!!!

Pure is an action-packed and emotional novel with meaning and purpose. It is a relentless whirlwind that grips you and shakes you and forces you to see beyond what you know and have been told!!

Author: Julianna Baggott
Release Date: February 8, 2012
Age Group: YA
Sequel: Fuse
Publisher: Grand Central Publishing
Page Count: 448
Source: ARC from Julianna Baggott and Grand Central Publishing And Preordered Final Copy!

Description:

"We know you are here, our brothers and sisters . . .

Pressia barely remembers the Detonations or much about life during the Before. In her sleeping cabinet behind the rubble of an old barbershop where she lives with her grandfather, she thinks about what is lost-how the world went from amusement parks, movie theaters, birthday parties, fathers and mothers . . . to ash and dust, scars, permanent burns, and fused, damaged bodies. And now, at an age when everyone is required to turn themselves over to the militia to either be trained as a soldier or, if they are too damaged and weak, to be used as live targets, Pressia can no longer pretend to be small. Pressia is on the run.

Burn a Pure and Breathe the Ash . . .

There are those who escaped the apocalypse unmarked. Pures. They are tucked safely inside the Dome that protects their healthy, superior bodies. Yet Partridge, whose father is one of the most influential men in the Dome, feels isolated and lonely. Different. He thinks about loss-maybe just because his family is broken; his father is emotionally distant; his brother killed himself; and his mother never made it inside their shelter. Or maybe it's his claustrophobia: his feeling that this Dome has become a swaddling of intensely rigid order. So when a slipped phrase suggests his mother might still be alive, Partridge risks his life to leave the Dome to find her.

When Pressia meets Partridge, their worlds shatter all over again."

The Cover: I really like the cover and think it is perfection in its' simplicity. However, this book has so, so, so many unique and odd images and characters in it, that I wish they would have been a little more daring with the cover and made it more crazy, tastefully crazy, but still crazy. 4 out 5 Hearts!

Teaser: "Moving in the shadows of trees on the other side of the field, she sees quick bodies. Nothing like the limping figure that was hiding behind the trees, these are large, fleet, and shifting in a pattern. She sees two and then a third. They emerge from the woods, and she can see that they are men, young with broad faces. They wear tight-fitting dark ashen camouflage suits that leave their arms bare. Their sleek hairless skin, so pristine, seems to glow. Their arms are rippled with muscle but also guns, thick black metal, attached, if not built in. They tilt their heads as if hearing things from far off and sniff the air. Their bodies are muscular. Two have barrel chest. The other has enormous thighs. They all have short hair. When they aren't moving with great speed with their breath steaming behind them in the chilled air, they lope almost elegantly. They have oversize hands - no, claws - but are still human. Normally, Pressia would be terrified, but because of the creatures' odd elegance and El Capitans' rapt fearlessness, she isn't." Pg 205

My Thoughts . . .

Pure by author Julianna Baggott was a story that pushes the boundary on what beauty means, in every way possible. It was a truly amazing, intriguing and captivating story that is precious and rare. In many books the protag or any character for that matter, is described as beautiful and stunning or also, often, plain and simple, but not ugly....oh, never ugly! But Julianna was not afraid to make ugly characters, to make characters who are so uncomfortable and frankly, are very ugly; characters with eyes on the sides of their heads like horse, characters mixed with animals, characters combined with four other people and characters with working fans jutting out of their throats, twirling with every breath.

This amazing style of character construction reminded of those 80's and 90's films back when all of oogly, boogly creatures were machine and rubber and they were so grotesque, but everyone loved them any ways because of their awesome freakishness. That's how the characters are, maybe not that extreme, but still in the same ballpark.

The writing style was utterly different then most books/YA books these days. It was the strangest blend of third, constantly infused with a stream of consciousness that just sucks you in and entices you to never stop reading as the character thinks about the past, the future, the present and of all the things they understand and don't understand. Julianna is amazing writer and I loved every page.

I'm gonna be honest, I wasn't so sure that I would like the book when I first started because I WAS so use to first person narration and when I saw that the book was third person infused with stream of consciousness I was very put off. Very. I just didn't like it. I didn't get it. I wasn't use to it. Five pages in, I could not stop reading!!! I was entranced and captivated by this world, by Pressia and Bradwell, by Patridge and Lyda and El Captain and by this beautiful, lyrical and artistic form of writing that I had to savor. And that's how it is with good books. With amazing books - you savor or consume. Since I received an ARC of Pure, that meant that the book had not even been released, which also meant that it's sequel, FUSE, was nowhere near publication so though I wanted to consume every page, I had to hold back and just savor. Savor the world, the writing and the characters.

A Little More Details on Characters???:

Pressia - I adored Pressia, I truly did. To me, she was the main protag and I loved everything about her, but that does not mean she wasn't flawed, both physically and socially, because she was. But that's why I liked her. She knew her flaws, she reprimanded herself for her not-so good thoughts and she forced herself to be a better person. She was strong character, that stumbles and falls, but refuses to give up. She is an extremely unique female protag in the YA books genre, for her story is not about loving a boy, but rather about loving herself and finding a better world, in the literal wastelands that surround her.

Patridge - At first I didn't care for Patridge, for the quite possible same reason that Bradwell didn't; he was a Pure. A Pure that didn't like the easy life he had. But then I got to learn about him, I got to learn about his history and feelings and his desires, I realized that he too, was a 3-D, flawed and powerful character that I enjoyed reading about.

Lyda - I like Lyda from the beginning, because even though she was Pure, she was strong. She knew her stance in life, but she also stood up for herself and was a fighter. Even when things got terrible, she was strong. Maybe a little mean, though that's understandable, but still, she was strong and I admired her strength, even though again, she was a Pure, and really never had to fight for anything. But in the end, she does fight. And she was another great female protag.

Bradwell - Bradwell was a character that I liked one moment and didn't like the next. He was stubborn and thought he was right about everything, but at the same time he was the most knowledgeable character and therefore, his smartassness and his stubbornness did make sense. I like that he was strong and again, flawed, like all the other characters. His deformity was physically unique and held a lot metaphorical meaning that I really enjoyed.

El Captian - El Capitan was the character that I felt struggled the most. He did horrible things and hated himself for it, but he knew he had to survive for him and even for his brother, though at times he wished he was without him. El was complex and haunted and wanted everything a Pure had while still hating them for everything they had and were. He was a tortured person who just wanted . . .he wanted everything, while wanting nothing and his emotions were just raw.

One thing I feel I need to mention is the religious undertone of the book. Don't freak! If you are not a religious person or don't like being preached at that, this book DOES NOT do that at all. It's not about our modern religion, but it is about what it means to have real faith. To believe in God and whether or not God and having faith in God and a better life is the same thing as believing in religion, in following what man tells you God wants you to do.

Are those who claim to know what God wants, right? Or is faith something else entirely? Is it the act of blind faith and doing what you are told? Or is it love? Something simple, but more powerful then anything else?

Having faith in yourself and those around you, are much more important then having faith in what you are told to believe in. Don't be the sheep nor the shepherd. Just simply, be.
So in the end Pure, by the wonderful Julianna Baggott is a book that will consume you, but that you should savor. It's truly a story about discovery and hope and the act of finding out what it means to be beautiful - in every way possible.

And My Next Project Is . . .

Okay . . . so it is that moment. That moment where I reveal what MagicalNovel is really about. On Monday I mentioned that it was the most ambitious thing I’d ever tackled and I showed MagicalNovel’s baby photos, and then I encouraged readers to guess what it was about, with hilarious results. (One reader — Cathrine M.H. — did get it precisely right and I will be sending her something prizey).

But now the guessing is over. It will be coming out September 18th of this year, and here is the cover.

*cuddles cover*

*cuddles it some more*
And here is the official summary:
"Filled with mystery, romance, and the supernatural, The Raven Boys introduces readers to Richard “Dick” Campbell Gansey, III and Blue Sargent. Gansey has it all—family money, good looks, devoted friends—but he’s looking for much more than that. He is on the hunt to find Glendower, a vanished Welsh king. Legend has it that the first person to find him will be granted a wish—either by seeing him open his eyes, or by cutting out his heart.

Blue Sargent, the daughter of the town psychic in Henrietta, Virginia, has been told for as long as she can remember that if she ever kisses her true love, he will die. But she is too practical to believe in things like true love. Her policy is to stay away from the rich boys at the prestigious Aglionby Academy. The boys there—known as Raven Boys—can only mean trouble. When Gansey and his Raven Boy friends come into her life, Blue realizes how true this is. She never thought her fortune would be a problem. But she was wrong."

It doesn’t mention that Gansey wears top-siders for practically the entire novel, but that is also true. It doesn't mention that this was the book that had me soliciting Twitter for all that "boys behaving badly" music for the playlist while I wrote it, but that is also true. It also doesn’t mention that THE RAVEN BOYS is book one in the four-book Raven Cycle, but that is also ALSO true.

So . . . there it is. I feel weird releasing this into the world, because it feels like such a different sort of project for me (which I now realize I have said every time I announce a new book). I’ve never planned out a series so painstakingly before, nor worked with so many characters. I’m having more fun than you can possibly imagine.

Well, possibly you can imagine it. Just insert my face hovering above three bowls of a cookie dough. That emotion is quite similar.

As always, if this sounds delightful, you can pre-order a signed and doodled in copy from Fountain Bookstore (believe you have to email them to pre-order until they set up the buy link). Or you can pre-order from Amazon."

I love the Scorpio Races and adore the writing in Wolves of Mercy Falls and this book sounds right up my alley! Unsual and dark....

I'm xcited for it!
Thoughts????

Excited?!?!?

Review: PURE by Julianna Baggott (2 of 3)
