Cassie Clares' New Book Series!! AWESOME!!

Now this is apparently really old news, but not many people know about this. Not me. I just learned about it today.

Cassie Clare has created a new book series set in the world of the Shadowhunters, called The Dark Artifices!!!

Whoot! Whoot!

Well. . . . . .here, is what she actually said on twitter:

"Do you plan on writing anymore books on Shadowhunters other than TMI & ID series?" I have a plan for another Shadowhunter trilogy (contemporary, but not about the characters from TMI). Working title: The Dark Artifices. It takes place five years after the end of TMI and deals with the Shadowhunters of the Los Angeles Institute.

I have many other idea for other books that do not take place in the Shadowhunter world, including a high fantasy series and a contemporary updated Jane Austen comedy. It just is a matter of what I write first.

I personally wouldn't mind any of them, but the high fantasy one would be awesome! I would love to see Clare delve into a deeper magickal genre, but The Dark Artifices would continue what TMI started and that would also be an amazing read!

Also, though I'm not sure if this is true, but the leads in The Dark Artifices are said to be named Julian and Emma!

Grool, grool, grool!!!

Jamie Campbell Bower is Jace Wayland in TMI!

Jamie Campbell Bower has been cast to play shadowhunter Jace Wayland in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones film!

Um,  . . . . .sooooooo, yerp. Um, mmk, I am not very happy with this decision. At all. No silver lining for me. I don't care that they have finally cast Jace, if the Jace they have cast is not a good choice.

Bower is a terrific actor without a doubt (though I think Eva Green is the best thing about Camelot), but he is not at all, how Jace is described (besides the blondness). Yes, he can be made to look like Jace, but this guy is not that greatlooking, no offense. This is one of the worst choices possible. Lily Collins, playing Clary, is gorgeous, though Clary isn't suppose to be gorgeous, I adore her as Clary. Jace is supposed to be beautiful and Bower is not. He just isn't. OK, so he's not ugly, but how many girls would actually dream about falling into Bowers' arms or consider him a beautiful lion/angel/man? Not many.. He looks like a young boy, not a badass guy that has every single girl, drooling (even some guys, Alec).

Robert Pattinson isn't beautiful like Edward was meant to be, but he is a good looking guy, so he can not be an example of casting choices, gone array if one tries to use him as an example. Bower - no, just no...ugh.

I'm not sure what else to say, but I personally am not satisfied with this choice, as I'm sure most people wont be as well. Everyone can not be pleased, but I can't help but feel the casting directors where trying to mimic the casting of Pattinson as Edward, by having Bower, who clearing has the same 'dirty boy look' as Pattinson, be cast as Jace.

Please don't be a Twilight wanna be . . .

Good luck.

Fingers crossed that everything turns out well though.

Your Thoughts?!

EDIT!: So, the author of this awesome book, Cassie Clare has stated in an interview with Hollywood Crush, that she cried when seeing Bower's audition tape because his chemistry with Collins (Clary) and his portrayal of Jace was sooooo perfect, that she knew then and there that these were her Clary and Jace. So, though I may not love this choice I am fully supporting Bower as Jace, since Cassie likes it and has seen Bower play the part of Jace and loves it - I love it too!! Only thing is and she said the same thing, is he will have to buff up a little! :^) AND, he might keep his British accent, which for me is, eh . . .

Donald Sutherland is Pres. Snow in The Hunger Games!

Donald Sutherland has been cast to play President Snow in The Hunger Games film!!

Now, I don't dislike this casting choice, at all, in fact I am very happy with it and think its awesome, but, I do have some personal issues with it. When ever I envisioned President Snow, I always imagined a man who was maybe in his early forties. I pictured Snow as a doll-like man, almost like a porcelain/plastic looking oldish guy, who looked young and fake, if that makes any sense...Sorta like Tim Allen in Santa Claus 2, when he played the Toy Santa..Only not as big haired and jolly.

Now, I know Donald will look different in his make-up and costumes, but for me, he seems a little too old for the role, in my mind. We all know that he is an amazing actor, so I have no fears at all, with him playing Snow, I just imagined him a little differently.

Besides that, I am so, so, so, excited! The main hands have been cast!!

Grool!

The Secret Circle Six Min. Trailer!!

I have been seriously slacking on the blogging front, but as I predicted, my boss has me working killer hours, since I'm only taking two summer classes, as opposed to the seven I was taking during the school year. Lets just say, I work from before the sun rises (literally) until the bloody midafternoon! I hates it. I hates it alot. . . .

But, last week, I believe it was Friday(?) the 6 mintue trailer for the new CW show, The Secret Circle premiered, and it was awesome!! I meant to blog it, but things kept coming up, but now, here it is!!:

Isn't just awesome! I have nothing negative to say about the actors or the clear change in characters and storyline in relations to the books. I really like the books, but I know the show will be awesome in its own right!

Can not wait to see this awesomness! And it follows The Vampire Diaries on Thursday nights?!? Grool!!

Hunger Games Tributes Complete!

The Hunger Games film has cast Alexander Ludwig as Cato and Isabelle Fuhrman as Clove!!! This is really perfect! Alex, who was a contestant for the role of Peeta is a really good actor and hasn't done much lately. This role is a real big departure from his roles in films such as The Seeker and Race to Witch Mountain.

And Isabelle . . . well she has been in only one major film and that was Orphan. If you haven't seen it, then your missing out, 'cus she plays a crazy 'orphan' who is willing to do anything to get what she wants!! She is a great, young actress, and Clove will be perfect for her!

Also, rounding up the rest of the tributes, for District 10, are newcomer Dakota Hood and stuntman Jeremy Marinas, from Justin Bieber's Never Say Never, The Green Hornet and The Expendables!

This is major awesome sauce! Cinna and Prez. Snow are next . . . wonder who they will be!!!

We Write on Wednesday (5) 5-11-11

We Write on Wednesday is a meme I host. Its all about writing a story. The story can come in the form of a short story, a poem, a full length story or even fanfiction! All you have to do is write. It doesn't matter how long it is; a paragraph, a full page, or just a sentence, as long as you write and post it on your blog!

I've noticed that many book bloggers like to write and would like to have a book written one day, including myself and this is a really fun way to share our writing and be critiqued by fellow bloggers!

Title: Endings

"And when the Stars fall from the Sky
Blood will pour, Ash will fly
Teardrops like ice in our eyes
Freezing away, our secret lies
As we say our last goodbyes
‘Cause we made the world fall from the Sky.
'Cause we made the world fall from the Sky."

Title: Eragon Fanfiction

“Eragon, you must get some rest.” whispered, the crippled elf, Orommis. They had been training all day in the glade where Orommis’s home lay root, and Eragon, succumbed to his tiredness, sat on his knees, his head drooping forward,  pearls of sweat dripping down his face and neck, was exhausted by the spell he had just attempted. The old elf had been trying to teach Eragon how to manipulate the current of the wind, by wrapping his energy in and around it.

“Its not as hard as it might sound.” He had told the young dragon rider before they began practicing. “All you have to do is detect where the wind is heading and attach your energy to it. Then after you have done that, just tell it where you want it to go and it shall listen.”

“If I may, Orommis-elda, how will this help me in life?” Eragon asked the elf who sat in his wooden chair, eating a palm full of ruby-red berries. Eragon's dark brown hair had grown a lot since he had first left his home village of Carvahall. And now standing in the mighty forest of Du Weldenvarden, he felt like a new person, because in many ways, he was. With his enhanced sight, speed and hearing he had been blessed with during his anointment in the Blood-Oath Celebration, or AgaetĂ Blödhren, not to mention his newly pointed ears and slanted eyes, Eragon still marveled at all the things he could do with his magic.

“Well Eragon there are quite a few things you could do with a spell such as this one. One of the many popular uses of this spell is to send letters to someone in direct route. It takes nearly no energy, for the wind puts in all the effort. All you do, is show it where to go. . . . . . .”

The Inheritance Cycle is one of my favorite book series ever, so here is a fragment of a fanfic I wrote and hope all Eragon fans enjoy!!

The Host, Stephenie Meyer and Saoirse Ronan!

The Host, written by author of the Twilight Series, Stephenie Meyer, has been in the works to become a film for a few years and the news buzzing around the film is that the actress, Saoirse Ronan, has been cast to play Melanie Stryder!

Though I read The Host, I didn't love it, but I liked it and I think that Saoirse will be a great Melanie, though she isn't how I imagined her, she is a great actress and will do a really good job!

Thoughts?

p.s. according to the rumor mill, Ronan, has also been cast/considered to play fairy, Holly Short in the Artemis Fowl film!
