True Blood Season Premiere!!

The fourth season of True Blood premiered last night on HBO and it was . . . . .

We start of with Sookie in a Shakespearean Fairy World and the first ten minutes were sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo brutal.

I was terrified. Not because anything was scary, not even the fey when they morphed from gold and clean to green and mean, but because it was horrible. Bad acting. Bad dialogue. Bad story. The fey became these goblin creatures and lost all of the eerie scariness they could have had, the wicked fierceness, and it was replaced with humanoid gremlins. It sucked and not in the good way.

Sookie does her screaming thing. Does her light thing. Does her redic crying thing. And then does it again. And then things get interesting. Really interesting. We learn that Sookie, while in her ten min. tris in Fairy World, has actually been gone over a year AND things have changed.

No more info from me, but lets just say IT REALLY PICKED UP!! ALOT!!! The show got amazing. It got soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good. It became awesome and brilliant and brilliant and awesome and I loved it. Many things have changed, many people have changed and I loved every second of it. So, by nature, when I heard I could go to hbogo.com and watch the second episode too, I defo went to the site and watched it!

Lets just say, it does not, at all, disappoint. IF these two episodes are any clue as to how the rest of the season will be, I've gotta say this is going to be the best season, since season one, possibly even better!!

Two Finale Words of Departure: "DEVIL BABY!"

Red Riding Hood DVD & Blu Ray Release!!

GO HERE !!! http://redridinghoodlovetriangle.com/?utm_source=APB&utm_medium=blogs&utm_campaign=rrhlt

Red Riding Hood on DVD and Blu Ray!

'Red Riding Hood SynopsisCatherine Hardwicke (Twilight) directs a fantasy thriller that puts a haunting twist on the classic fairy tale. For years the villagers of Daggerhorn have maintained an uneasy truce with a werewolf – but the beast changes the stakes by killing the older sister of beautiful young Valerie (Amanda Seyfried). Promised in marriage to one man but in love with another, Valerie has her life dramatically affected yet again by the creature’s bloody actions. When a werewolf hunter warns that the beast takes human form by day and walks among them, panic sets in as the death toll rises. And Valerie learns she has a unique connection to the wolf that inexorably draws them together, making her both suspect…and bait. Gary Oldman, Billie Burke, Shiloh Fernandez, Max Irons, Virginia Madsen, Lukas Haas and Julie Christie also star.'

If you like mystery and werewolves and two guys vying for the love of the beautiful Amanda Seyfried, then this movie is for you!!!

Not only is it visually beautiful, but the story and plot twist are what keeps the story booming - the brooding, melodramatic love and the insanely awesome music, do a lot to help as well!!

So you should go out and get it now!!

p.s. the alternatending is --- well, you will just have to find out for yourself!

Game of Thrones Season Finale!! wooooah..

The season finale of the first season of HBO's Game of Thrones ended about an hour ago and I am still registering all that happened....

Lets just say, it was awesome!!!

I haven't read the books and don't plan to, only because high fantasy books aren't for me. I just can't get into them - the only high fantasy that I have ever been able to read is the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini, which is totally awesome!! ... but anyways, Game of Thrones ended and it was brilliant.

(edit: It slipped my mind that I have read The Sword of Truth Series by Terry Goodkind, which is awesome high fantasy and also, I've already started going through GOT withdrawl, so I might just read the books, so I can get a fix -- fast!)

Best Credits Opening Ever!!!

The last minute had me screaming, literally, in excitement!

There was not one, but THREE dragons!!!!

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love dragons. They are my favorite animal and they don't even exist!!

The show ends with Daenerys, sitting in the smoking remnants of the pyre in which she just burned her beloved Drogo (so sad), and she is covered in ash, as she cradles something in her hand and then a dragon crawls up on her shoulder.

She stands up, her faithful people bow, as three dragons cling to her and one ( who looks alot like a Hungarian Horntail) roars/squeals into the blackening screen.

This has seriously been one of the best shows I've ever watched. It was soooo good and complex and compelling and though it was fantasy related, it wasn't all about magick, which was different, yet refreshing.

I can't believe I have to wait til next year for the next season . . .jeez, it is so far away, but I will def be buying the first season on bluray.

Game of Thrones, you are awesome!!

Rest in Peace:

Horse 1.

Horse 2.

Reptile Baby.

And anyone else I might have missed!

Did you watch GOT? What did you think?

And True Blood premieres in its stead, next week...Not so sure how I'm going to like this season, but we shall see!

Veronica Roth's INSURGENT Sequel!!

So, author of the debut novel Divergent, Veronica Roth has released the title for her sequel and its called Insurgent and it sounds awesome!

Really glad she is going with the GENT ending of the titles to give the books a consistent feel as being sequels!!

Now I read Divergent a while back and have yet to write my review for it, but I will within the next week, after I finished Blood Magic by Tessa Gratton!

I can not wait for the sequel - Divergent was . . .good!!!!

Here Is Roth's Post!!:

" I've been sitting on this one for a long time. Months ago I proposed a book two title idea to the people over at the HC, and they liked it, but I've found (and they've found, I'm sure) that it's good to ruminate over things for awhile before you make a decision.

I am happy to say that this particular idea held up as the months went on. So, without further adieu, I shall post it.

This post really wouldn't be complete without a dictionary definition, so here it is:

1755–65; < Latin insurgent- (stem of insurgÄ“ns ) present participle of insurgere: to get up, ascend, rebel.

1. a person who rises in forcible opposition to lawful authority, especially a person who engages in armed resistance to a government or to the execution of its laws; rebel.
2. a member of a section of a political party that revolts against the methods or policies of the party.
3. one that acts contrary to the established leadership (as of a political party, union, or corporation) or its decisions and policies
4. (international law) a person or group that rises in revolt against an established government or authority but whose conduct does not amount to belligerency

Not all of those definitions are equally applicable to the book-- some are more spot-on than others. But I won't tell you which ones yet.

Now all I have to do is finish! Back to the writing cave!"
Grool, huh?
Makes you wonder, what the third book is going to be called . . . .!

Andrea Cremer's BLOODROSE Cover Revealed!!

Though I still think the original covers are borderline amazing and prefer them over the new covers, the revelation of  Andrea Cremer's Bloodrose has gotten me really excited for Wolfsbane and Bloodrose!!

Here They Are In Order!!

Cremer says the cover of Bloodrose comes from a specific scene in the book . . .hmmm, looks like she might be somewhere cold, with the fur hood and all. Possibly Alaska? Antarctica? Siberia? Russia? Stop me, now I could go on and on . . . Iceland?  ; ^ )

p.s. just imagine how amazing the blood red backdrop would have been on the original cover style.

once again . . . .*sighs*

Kiersten Whites' Supernaturally ARC Contest!!

Kiersten White is hosting a really grool contest on her blog!!!

I just learned about it today cus I have been trashed with school and work, but its really awesome and awesome!!

Here Be The Deets:!!!!

" . . . So, in honor of this being the last month before Supernaturally's release month, I'd better give away one of my advance copies. Hmmm. You know what? I'd better give away THREE of them.
It's pretty simple. You look at THIS gorgeous thing:

(edit: Supernaturally comes out July 26!!!)

And write a fake synopsis for it. Example:

Flora has always resented working in her creepy, fan-obsessed aunt's flower shop. But when she starts making prom corsages, she discovers she has a supernatural gift for creating just the right arrangement to encourage--or destroy--true love. When Nolan, her best friend and the boy of her dreams, asks her archenemy Fawn to the dance, will she use her powers for good or evil? And will her aunt ever turn off the massive fan that constantly blows her hair in a dramatic way? This July 26th: Pick your flowers, pick your fate...with SUPERNATURALLY.

  • Obviously it doesn't have to have anything to do with the actual book or series, though you are welcome to write a fake synopsis of what you think the book will really be like!
  • Enter by leaving your synopsis in the comments section of this post (on my actual blog--I never check comments on goodreads, sorry). Only one entry per person will be counted.
  • Please keep it to 150 words or fewer. I read everything, and this will save us both time and be a good object lesson in packing a punch with the fewest words possible!
  • Open internationally.
  • You may absolutely and are highly encouraged to post/tweet/facebook about this contest, and (after leaving it in the comments section) to post your entry + the cover elsewhere, too. (Please make sure to note that what you are writing is not what the book is actually about, lest we confuse the easily confused denizens of internetlandia and leave them bitterly disappointed when they discover that Supernaturally is not, in fact, about an amputee with a love of couture dresses.)
  • Deadline is Wednesday, June 15th, 11:59 PM Pacific Time, aka whenever my clock says it's 11:59.
WINNERS: One (ONE) winner will be chosen by me for being the funniest/cleverest/whatever-else-est I decide. Two (TWO) other winners will be drawn at random, meaning everyone has a shot at winning! (If you really, really don't want to, you don't even have to write a synopsis. You can just write, "Enter me for the random drawing, please!" And I will. Though I might cry a little because you were supposed to entertain me and you didn't.)

Most importantly, have fun! I can't wait to see what my book is about!"

Soooooo, go post about it, tweet and facebook it!!

I have tweeter for my blog and a facebook, but for the life of me, I cant login...but, I posted and you should too!!

Here Is What I Wrote!!:

“The night the Blood Moon rose, was a day just like any other. Its ominous glow hued the sky red and everyone marveled at its eerie beauty. But no one expected what happened next. No one knew, that the sun would never rise again – no one, but them.
Thirty-five years later…
The only life Clover Pirello has ever known is the one of red nights, the one dominated by the Fey and their leader, Reth.
When her mother, Ev, died, sacrificing her life for the love of her daughter, Clover was taken in by a mysterious woman named Vivian and was taught the myriad of magick that lied within a single touch of her finger. Magick, that demands her to fight!
Fight for her world. Fight for the boy, that she can’t help but love and fight for the secrets of her past, her mother’s past and the truth of what her powers, really mean…before it’s too late.”

Review: BETWEEN by Cyndi Tefft

Author: Cyndi Tefft
Release Date: June 1, 2011Age Group:YAPublisher: CreateSpaceReading level: Young AdultPage Count: 252 Source: ARC From Author

Love and Death and What Happens Next . . .?

‘Sometimes death is just the beginning...

It just figures that the love of Lindsey Water's life isn't alive at all, but the grim reaper, complete with a dimpled smile and Scottish accent.

After transporting souls to heaven for the last 300 years, Aiden MacRae has all but given up on finding the one whose love will redeem him and allow him entry through the pearly gates.
Torn between her growing attraction to Aiden and heaven's siren song, Lindsey must learn the hard way whether love really can transcend all boundaries.’

The Cover: The cover is nice and is cool looking, but it isn't awesome. The details are really neat, but defo, not the best cover I've seen. Could have been better, but still eerily nice.

First Line: "Ravi's lips were soft and familiar against mine, but my mind was elsewhere."

My Thoughts  . . . .

Between was a quick read with lots of religious allegory that wasn't annoying like it could have been. Tefft handles her religiousness tastefully and the reader isn't left with the feeling that they just had Sunday School shoved down their throat.

Aiden and Lindsey were secure with their beliefs and their romance was nice and neat, though a tad cheesy, but still, very sweet and at times, intense. Lindsey isn't a 16 year old - she is in college so her romance with Aiden was more believable because she was old enough to not be entranced by a hot crush, but instead can actually say she is in love. I really believed that the loved each other.

Aiden was very nice and refreshing romantic interest - and he wasn't all brooding and mysterious all the time. He was funny and clever and a good guy. I really enjoyed that he was a different type of paranormal love interest and not a vamp or were or something like that.

Lindsey was a good leading girl, though I felt her religiousness made her a tad bias and a little un-relatable to someone who wasn't religious.

The story itself was different and nice, but I felt it was missing something; that the lore could have been further explored and explained, but what was present was really awesome! I mean really - a Scottish Reaper? Awwwesome.

Overall, this was a nice and fun read, that wasn't typical to YA, but then again, I felt it didn't really belong in the YA genre because it was religious - not just religious characters, but a religious story with religious morals and meanings.

Question: Should you read it?

Answer: Heavens yes!

Keary Taylor's EDEN Giveaway!!

Over on the blog, Electrifying Reviews, blogger Alex is giving away a signed copy of the book Eden, by author Keary Taylor!

Here's The Premise!!:

"Eve knew the stories of the Fall, of a time before she wandered into the colony of Eden, unable to recall anything but her name. She’s seen the aftermath of the technology that infused human DNA with cybernetic matter, able to grow new organs and limbs, how it evolved out of control. The machine took over and the soul vanished. A world quickly losing its humanity isn’t just a story to her though. At eighteen, this world is Eve’s reality. In their Fallen world, love feels like a selfish luxury, but not understanding what it is makes it difficult to choose between West, who makes her feel alive but keeps too many secrets, and Avian, who has always been there for her, but is seven years her senior. The technology wants to spread and it won’t stop until there is no new flesh to assimilate. With only two percent of the human population left, mankind is on the brink of extinction. While fighting to keep Eden alive, Eve will discover that being human is about what you will do for those you love, not what your insides may be made of. And even if it gets you killed, love is always what separates them from the Fallen."

Now, doesn't that sound just plain grool!?!!

 . . . . .and that cover?!? . . . .beautiful.

This has got to be one of the most interesting and smartly crafted synopsis for a book that I have ever read. It most certainly gives hint to a love interest or two, but nowhere does it say 'mysterious' or 'dark' or 'brooding' or even 'hot' when describing the love interest and I am very thankful for that. It means, this will not be a story about a girl obsessed with boys, but a story about characters and plot!

This is a very fresh and cool take on dystopia and I can not wait to read it!!

Now, (which I just learned) since this book is self-published, it won't be on Amazon or B&N for few days or so, but the book will be released on June 21, so make sure you keep your eyes open for it, so that you can buy it!

I know will!

Don't forget, go to Electrifying Reviews and enter the contest to win a SIGNED(!!!!) copy of Eden, by Keary Taylor!

I already did . . . .

idk - I'm just uber xcited for this book! %^)!

The REAL Breaking Dawn Part 1 Trailer!!

Before the MTV movie awards tonight. (I'll be watching the epicness of Game of Thrones!!)

Hurry up and watch it before its taken down! It doesn't look horrible and the score sounds beautiful.

Kstew looks stunning and though I can not stand Jacob or Taylor Lautners acting, his phasing scene is extremely well done.

Hunger Games to be Four Films!?!

As the title suggests, The Hunger Games films which hasn't even fully filmed its first movie, is already been slated to become a four film franchise. Harry Potter much? ugh . . .Twilight much?

But, hey, I have no real complaints. Let them. As long as the films are freaking awesome, I really dont care if its four films!

The Hunger Games!!

Breaking Dawn Part 1 Teaser Trailer Teaser!

This is a teaser of actual footage of the wedding scene, in Breaking Dawn Part 1!

Does anyone know who the lady is in the purplish dress on Edwards right? Not, Esme, but the lady in front of her? hmmm .  . . . . .

The official trailer will be released this Sunday, premiering on the MTV Movie Awards.

I hope Twilight doesn't win everything and that Harry Potter kicks some well deserved ass!
